We had a dining experience at this restaurant! The barista, Mate, was fantastic—barista-tic and smiling. It really set a great tone. Waiter Agatha was welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. We also tried the desserts and were quite pleased with them—they were a nice finishing touch to the meal.

Very good food. Well prepared and friendly service. Definitely will be going back. Baked mushrooms were sooo good. Aged steak and ox cheak we melt in your mouth delicious. Tiramisu martini also a big hit.

Excellent steak house. Down a little side street next to the Grand Opera House, which is where we were going. The fillet steak was lovely, but slightly over done, nothing major. Peppercorn sauce was delicious. Garlic mushrooms, I could have eaten them all day. The Ox Cheek was absolutely delicious. Whiskey Sour cocktail was lovely, and went down like pop. If you’re offered a window seat get one the farthest from the door you can in. The one closest looks out over a load of bins.

What a gem! Very spacious but the decor and layout manages to make the space feel cosy. Great menu with a lot of choice and the options chosen didn’t disappoint - a selection of starters to share for our group, followed by the fish of the day (cod) and the apple crumble for dessert. De-li-cious !! The entire staff were brilliant but I must make a special mention. Our waitress, Mariam, was simply outstanding, a petit powerhouse! Attentive from the start and even though we had a big, perhaps a little boisterous, group, she held her own and managed to get through ordering, clearing the table between courses, navigating the humour and random interactions beautifully. Five star service

Absolutely beautiful food, the steaks, sides and the starters were some of the best we have ever had. We have been back since and can’t wait to return. Service was brilliant!

Went for dinner a few weeks back with my partner, I chose this restaurant as it had good reviews. And I can see why! It was absolutely amazing! I had the lamb with mint gravy, horseradish mash and carrots. It was so delicious I enjoyed every mouthful! My partner had the Cajun chicken with crispy new potatoes and broccoli. He said the sauce was amazing and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I can’t complement it enough! The desserts were amazing as well! We had the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate brownie. The only thing I questioned was the sticky toffee pudding wasn’t heated up but the brownie was which I thought should be the other way or both warm instead. That was the only thing I can think of I would change it was all amazing I would definitely recommend if you’re in York to eat here! I wish I lived closer so I can eat here all the time!

Absolutely delicious! Steak cooked perfectly and was of a high quality. Sides delicious too, very generous with the garlic king prawns. Not the cheapest but would highly recommend!
